ICE SKATING and ICE FISHING ON the POND
Have you ever skated on a real pond not a smelly rink? Come skate on Pelham Lake its just like a Norman Rockwell painting. Fire on the beach; good size lake with over 2 feet of ice most of the winter; plowed skating area after it snows; toilets available what could be better. Well have the hot chocolate waiting when you return.
SKIING AND SNOWSHOEING
Head out Maple House trails for back-country skiing and snow-shoeing. You could see bear, deer, rabbit and maybe moose tracks. Snow shoe to the site of Fort Pelham, Pelham Lake or even the top of Mount Adams. Free x-country skiing on groomed trails in town and in nearby state forests. Excellent free skiing abounds. SKI IN TWO STATES ON ONE WEEKEND
You can even x-country or downhill ski in two states on one weekend: X-C: Stump Sprouts, MA and Prospect Mountain in VT. Down-hill: Berkshire East, MA and Haystack or Mt. Snow, VT- 20 miles north. No waiting in line- well get the tickets ahead for you. Hot chocolate and a roaring fire await you back at Maple House. Dinner and packed lunches available for groups of 8 or more.
DINNER BY THE FIRE
Off the back of the house is a beautiful screen and glass enclosed private porch with an antique brick oven fireplace. Its a great place to view the stars or relax after biking, hiking or skiing. Well even fire up the brick oven and bake a tasty dinner for groups of 8 or more if you like.

Enter your classic design in nearby Berkshire East down hill ski areas cardboard box derby. Race your rig in front of an appreciative crowd and win a seasons pass and other prizes. Stay for the bonfire of the classics and enjoy great skiing on the Berkshire's best, undiscovered, inexpensive mountain.
